Achille Dallabona is an internationally acclaimed Italian bassoonist, professor, and pedagogue, recognized for his artistic excellence and his significant contribution to higher music education. He serves as Professor at the Ján Albrecht University of Music and Arts in Banská Štiavnica and as Lecturer at the University of Music and Performing Arts of Vienna. He is also temporarily engaged as Acting Principal Bassoon at the Stadttheater der Bühne Baden in Austria.

He has performed with some of Europe’s most prestigious orchestras, including the Radio Symphony Orchestra Vienna, Wiener Symphoniker, the Orchestra dell’Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia in Rome, among many others. Throughout his career, he has collaborated with many of the world’s most renowned conductors, including Zubin Mehta, Antonio Pappano, Marin Alsop, Valery Gergiev, Franz Welser-Möst, Vladimir Jurowski, among many others, as well as internationally celebrated soloists such as Maxim Vengerov, Diana Damrau, and Leonidas Kavakos among many others. Alongside his orchestral career, he is also active in chamber music and has collaborated with the Vienna Reeds Quintet, performing in important concert series and festivals

As a leading international educator, he has served since 2025 as Artistic and Educational Director of the GEORGRIEGER Bassoon Academy and is the founder of the Trentino Bassoon Masterclass & Expo (now in its sixth edition), an important international platform for bassoon education and performance. He is regularly invited to give masterclasses, seminars, and concerts at major conservatories and universities across Europe, particularly in Spain, Germany, Portugal, Austria, Slovakia, and Italy, and frequently serves as a jury member for international competitions.

Dallabona completed his musical studies with highest honors, earning a Master of Arts Degree in Bassoon and a master’s degree in Chamber Music from the Conservatorio Superiore Nazionale di Musica di Trento. He further pursued advanced studies at the Tiroler Landeskonservatorium Innsbruck, the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna under Richard Galler, and the Hochschule für Musik Nürnberg.

His artistic development was further shaped by studies with distinguished musicians such as Dag Jensen, Sergio Azzolini, and many other internationally renowned artists.

He is also the author of the reed-making method Lucky Number 7, published in Italian, German, and English, making a significant contribution to the pedagogical literature for bassoonists worldwide.
